PTI Cymru, the umbrella organisation that operates Contact Centre Cymru and the Welsh Government’s public transport information service Traveline Cymru, has appointed two new members to its board of directors.

Joining the board at the company is Cynthia Ogbonna, managing director of Cardiff Bus, and Councillor Sean Morgan. The board is currently comprised of representatives from the bus and rail industry, consumer groups and local authorities across Wales.

As part of their new roles, Mrs Ogbonna and Mr Morgan will provide support to the business’s organisational goals and strategy, and discuss the wider transport industry issues in Wales.

In 2012, Mrs Ogbonna became the first female in the 110 years history of Cardiff Bus to be appointed Managing Director. Cardiff Bus provides bus services to the city of Cardiff and employs around 700 people, with a fleet of over 200 buses and a turnover of £34m.

Mrs Ogbonna will be joining the board as a representative of the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT Wales), a trade association representing the bus, coach and light rail industries in Wales.

Mr Morgan is the Cabinet Member for Economy, Infrastructure and Sustainability at Caerphilly County Borough Council, having worked as a councillor since 2012.

Prior to becoming a councillor, his career has also included the management of his own small businesses and commercial property development. He will join the board as a representative for The Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA), an organisation which represents the interests of local government and promotes local democracy in Wales.

Jo Foxall, managing director of PTI Cymru, said:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Cynthia and Sean to our board, their expertise and knowledge of the transport industry on a local and national level will provide essential, constructive input. We’ve developed robust relationships with both of them, and working with both has already been an incredibly positive experience.”

    Mrs Ogbonna said:

“I am delighted to join the members of the board at PTI Cymru. There is a strong team in place here, and I’m looking forward to getting to work on the latest developments in the organisation.”

Mr Morgan discussed his appointment, saying:

“I’m very happy to be joining the board, and am looking forward to providing essential support to the business. I’m thrilled that along with Mrs Ogbonna, I am joining the board as the organisation’s latest ambassador.”
