A couple from Rhondda have been jailed after having sex in a public space.

The incident took place on February 23, 2026, where officers received a call from the owner of a café in Talbot Green alleging two people had broken into the outdoor seating area at the venue and were caught on CCTV having sex.

Anthony Evans, 42 from Rhondda and Leah Evans, 37 from Rhondda have both been jailed for three months following their conviction.

On Friday February 27 at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates court the pair pleaded guilty to an act of outraging public decency and criminal damage and were sentenced.

PC Ffion Hiscutt said“This was unacceptable behaviour deplorable act in a public place which was clearly visible to the public.

“They now have a short stint in prison to think about their actions”
