Charity concert Rock & Raise 2018, held at the Paget Rooms on Oct 27th 2018 was a huge success with the night raising an incredible £8000 for three worthy Welsh charities.

Compared by TV presenter Rhydian Bowen Phillips the evening featured five live acts, including popular South Wales band The Woods, singer songwriter Chris Kelly, local & international rockabilly legend John Lewis, St Louis Express and Buster, Rosco & Friends.

Co-organiser and The Woods band member Chris Wood said:

“We’d like to thank all those involved in making the night such a great success by buying a ticket or making a donation. As well as enjoying an evening of great music, we were able to raise a substantial amount of money for three amazing causes, and we’d like to thank everyone – including all our sponsors – for their generosity”.

Proceeds from the event will be shared between, Velindre Cancer Care, BOBATH Children’s Cerebral Palsy and Kidney Wales, charities close to the organisers hearts.

Deputy Head of Fundraising at Velindre, Kylie McKee said:

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the Rock & Raise team – Marie, Chris and Anna – for their hard work and support in organising their fundraising event. The money raised from our supporters is used to ensure the best possible support is offered to every patient, their families and carers dealing with cancer and a donation of this size will make a real difference”.

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy to children all over Wales who have cerebral palsy.

For almost 50 years, Kidney Wales has been at the forefront of kidney patient care, wellbeing and research in Wales.
