SD Team, the UK’s leading finishing group, has relocated its headquarters to Llantarnam Business Park, Cwmbran.

The business, which has been based in Caldicot for the past ten years, has opened the doors to new offices as it prepares for a period of extensive expansion in 2026.

SD will retain its original premises in the Severn Bridge Industrial Estate, which will be used as a warehouse and training facility while the new offices is a base for staff across the SD group of companies.

First launched in 1973 as S&D Sealants, the company provides professional sealant and cosmetic repairs services and has since expanded, adding cruise ship specialist SD Marine Interiors, as well as wholesalers Solseal and SPC Supplies, to its group of companies.

Following a difficult year for the construction and building materials industries, Nick Jones, Managing Director at SD, is focusing on driving expansion over the coming twelve months – beginning with the official opening of new headquarters and a major recruitment drive to add 40 new roles to the SD team.

On SD’s plans for expansion, Nick said: “The construction industry has been hit hard in recent months by economic uncertainty, and although we’ve certainly felt the effects of this, we’ve been incredibly fortunate to have maintained strong relationships with construction partners and a dedicated workforce that is always ready to go above and beyond.

“With a new year beginning, I’m looking forward to driving things forward in 2026 and celebrating new achievements for the business. The opening of our Cwmbran office has been a long time coming and has allowed us more space to grow the team, something which I’m keen to prioritise in the first quarter of this year.”

Alongside its headquarters in Wales, SD Team has nine offices nationwide and has recently expanded overseas with the opening of its first European offering in the Netherlands.

The company works primarily with the housebuilding, insurance and commercial sectors, including healthcare and NHS facilities, hospitality, education, retail and catering premises. It also provides expert cosmetic repair and interiors services for the marine sector, working on world-renowned cruise ships around the globe.

On the opening of the Cwmbran office, Nick added: “We’re delighted to be moving SD’s headquarters to a brand-new space in Llantarnam. We’ve always found that a good working environment breeds a strong workplace culture, and for that reason we always ensure that our offices are very open, bright and welcoming.  I’m looking forward to seeing our team growing here in the months to come.”
