Pembrokeshire County Council has unveiled a series of short films that tell the incredible stories of our community-led action across Pembrokeshire.

Communities in Pembrokeshire have some amazing stories to tell – and the clips produced bring the variety of community-led initiatives to life.

They come in all shapes and sizes, from looking after green spaces, to providing meals on wheels, running public toilets and even swimming pools.

The series of films also capture the importance of volunteering and what it means to the people who need support the most.

The first to premiere is the greening project which is based in Fishguard and Goodwick and highlights the importance of caring for beautiful green spaces.

Other initiatives include Saundersfoot Connect, which provided much-needed community support during the pandemic, Lota Park in Fishguard and the award-winning Meals on Wheels in St David’s.

It’s hoped that the films will inspire others across Pembrokeshire to see what is possible and take the lead in their own local areas.

David Simpson, Leader of Pembrokeshire Council says: ‘Volunteering is at the very core of kindness – and volunteering is at the heart of each of these stories.

‘These videos highlight the incredible work our communities are doing – and ensure the lives, love and work of our amazing community members is celebrated.

‘I am immensely proud of the projects that have been undertaken – often in challenging circumstances – but this showcases the amazing communities of Pembrokeshire – and the actions they do to support their community.’

The featured projects, from across Pembrokeshire, provide a snapshot of the community spirit and what can be achieved, and will help empower communities to embrace volunteering and help make their local environment an even better place to live.
