Leaders of the future are getting the chance to join one of the world’s leading manufacturing facilities as Sony UK Technology Centre (UK TEC) launches its graduate recruitment.

The Pencoed-based facility, which produces HD broadcast and 4K cameras for worldwide distribution, is taking on graduates for the eighth consecutive year from March 22nd, 2021.

The industry-leading programme is coordinated by the company’s onsite academy and will enable its participants to gain invaluable work experience at one of the world’s leading manufacturing sites.

The manufacturing giant has developed a world-renowned reputation thanks to its high-end broadcast and professional camera manufacturing operation, along with its contract manufacturing business which has created industry-leading products including the Raspberry Pi.

Graduates will have a choice of applying for positions in a variety of business areas including: Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Industrial Engineering, Product Group Engineering, Supply Chain, Production Management, and Learning & Development.

As part of their role, the successful candidates will utilise skills including technical, creative, and problem solving in a bid to revolutionise the facility’s existing manufacturing processes.

The graduate roles will be supported by an intense 3-year training and development plan which will aim to fast-track them to higher level positions within the company. Through this process, the graduates will get the opportunity to develop their skills across Sony UK TEC’s diverse professional facility, and this will enable them to experience all the challenges and rewards of working in a modern manufacturing environment.

Following interviews, some candidates may take part in an Insights Discovery Test, which will be used to help those successful with their onboarding and development journey at the company.

Director of Professional Services, Gerald Kelly, said that the graduate programme is successful in cultivating more well-rounded and knowledgeable professionals in the long-term.

He said: “We are extremely excited to be starting the search for the next generation of engineers and business leaders at Sony UK TEC.

“Our graduate programme offers a flexible and varied experience developing individuals’ skills at one of the leading manufacturing facilities in the world. Through the programme, graduates get the chance to learn from our world-renown team of engineers, technicians, and business leaders to get first-hand experience of best practice and develop industry-leading techniques.

“We look forward to receiving applications and welcoming the leaders of the future to Sony UK TEC this year.”

Entry requirement for the graduate scheme is a 2:1 degree in any subject, along with a passion for creating leading manufacturing solutions and the drive to continuously exceed industry standards.

Applications will remain open until all roles are filled.
