Land and property auctioneers, Auction House South Wales (AHSW) has appointed David Jones as part of the company’s expanding commercial offering.

Specialists in both residential and commercial properties, AHSW combines the strength of a national brand with on the ground detailed local knowledge and expertise through its Newport and Cardiff based offices. It is the fastest growing auction house in the area, with a 74% conversion rate and completing sales totalling circa £5 million in the last six months.

David Jones MRICS, aged 34 from Newport, joins the company as a director, having established his career at Lambert Smith Hampton, Swansea and Cardiff and, before that, Hutchings and Thomas in Newport. He brings a wealth of experience gained over 12 years as a Chartered Surveyor in all aspects of general practice surveying and transacting numerous deals across each sector of commercial property.

    David Jones said:

“This is an exciting time to be joining such a dynamic, fast growing and profitable company. I am looking forward to developing the commercial and development offering further, establishing Auction House South Wales as the go to auctioneer for anyone looking to buy and sell property, land and investments – whether that is commercial or residential.”

Welcoming David to the team, Auction House South Wales managing director, Mick Haywood said: “In addition to our strong position for residential auction sales, we can now handle a broader range of instructions across the entire commercial sector, including development sites and ground rents.

“Regardless of whether a property is capable of immediate occupation or one that requires investment and renovation, auction is justifiably an increasingly popular and effective way of selling. The process is transparent and offers shorter timescales than traditional estate agency private treaty sales.

“For buyers the process offers security, because the price is set as the hammer falls and exchange is instant. Auction is no longer just the preserve of land and renovation projects, and landlords and investors are picking up some great properties that give a good return.”

Auction House South Wales covers the whole of the South Wales area, from the Seven Bridge over to the city of St David’s and from the Vale coastline up to the Wye Valley and Aberystwyth.

The next auction will be held at 7pm, Wednesday 11 April, 2018 at the Village Hotel, Coryton, Cardiff.
