Specialist motor insurer ERS to create up to 100 jobs in Swansea

ERS, the UK’s largest specialist motor insurer, is pleased to announce that it anticipates hiring up to 100 employees and invest in training and developing at its Swansea offices over the next 12 months as it brings increasingly specialist jobs to the city.
The company has doubled its size in Swansea over the last three years taking it to well over 450 employees. As it expands further, it will be offering even more great opportunities at all experience levels for individuals seeking meaningful career development.
The announcement is a welcome boost for the region following the news in May that Virgin Media will close its Swansea call centre with the loss of 800 jobs. In fact, ERS is specifically encouraging people affected by the Virgin closure to attend an open day on Saturday 4th August.
[aoa id=”1″]As a company that has already invested in growth in the region ERS recognises the potential that Swansea has when it comes to recruiting new employees. In anticipation of this, it moved into new 33,000 sq ft premises in Crucible Park, Swansea Vale in 2015 to facilitate its ongoing expansion in the city.[/aoa]
ERS provides motor insurance for vehicles that are a bit different, such as classic cars, combine harvesters and even the most exclusive of supercars for unique events like the Gumball 3000 Rally.
Specialist insurance roles such as in claims and underwriting have traditionally been performed in London. But ERS is increasingly developing its employees in Swansea to undertake these sorts of roles giving rise to a wide range of opportunities.
ERS has opportunities in a variety of other roles for a range of experience levels (entry level to managerial) across its claims, underwriting and IT departments. And you don’t need to know about cars or insurance to work for ERS as full training is provided.
Lauren Edwards, Head of HR at ERS, said:
“We have been growing in Swansea for several years and I am delighted that we are able to increasingly offer not just jobs but real career opportunities as we continue to expand.
“To be able to offer such an array of opportunities in one location speaks volumes for what is being achieved here. We have a fantastic employee base with high retention rates; we are now seeking more motivated people to join us as we continue to grow.”
If you fancy joining the team or just want to know more, visit ers.com/careers and join them for a chat (and free breakfast) on Saturday 4th August between 9am and 12pm at their offices at Crucible Park, Llansamlet, Swansea, SA7 0AB.
