The first event of the year, Ystrad Mynach Spring Fair, took place on Saturday 23rd March 2024.

Ystrad Mynach Town Centre saw an amazing 5,623 visitors on the day, with peak attendance being 995 at 12pm. This has been the busiest day of the year for the town so far, with there being 4,493 more visitors compared to the previous Saturday. Footfall was also higher than the last event that took place in Ystrad Mynach at Christmas.

There was a whole range of activities and entertainment at the fair including Easter Bunny meet and greet, Alice in Pantoland, The Mid Wales Ghostbusters, a petting farm, face painting, several food and drink stalls, and much more!

The positivity brought by the event greatly benefited the town centre, retailers, and the community.

Hear what local businesses and traders had to say about the event:

Jon Richards of Fields of Magnetic Horizon Record Shop commented “A vibrant event, lots of new faces in the shop despite inclement weather, lots of positive feedback from people.”

Gareth Price from D. Emlyn Lloyd said “The weather could have been better but nice to still see people out and about enjoying themselves.”

Caerphilly Council are hosting another Spring Fair in Blackwood Town Centre on Saturday 13th April 2024.
