Support for homeless people this winter in Bridgend

Bridgend County Borough Council has confirmed that support will once again be available for anyone who finds themselves homeless or at risk of homelessness this winter.

Following Welsh Government’s ‘no one left out’ approach which has been in place since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, hundreds of people in Bridgend County Borough have already received help and temporary accommodation.

Over the winter months, the council will continue to work closely with our partners to ensure full support is provided to anyone who is homeless or who finds themselves at risk of becoming homeless.

We would urge anyone who thinks they might be facing homelessness to tell us as soon as possible – the sooner we know about your situation, the more likely it is that we can help, and prevent the situation from getting worse.

Councillor Dhanisha Patel, Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and Future Generations

A homelessness application can be made to the local authority’s Housing Solutions team at any time for 365 days a year. The council will assess your housing and support needs, and will advise you about available options, including whether we are able to offer you temporary accommodation.

If you are homeless or at risk of homelessness please contact Bridgend County Borough Council on 01656 643643.

If you are concerned about someone you have seen sleeping rough, please use the StreetLink app or website to send an alert. The details you provide are forwarded to the local authority or outreach support who will seek to find the individual and make sure they have access to support.
