Swansea BID relaunch Rioja Day for 2022

Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) are bringing Rioja Day back to Swansea. Originally launched in 2018, the relaunch will take place on 9th June 2022.

Bringing a little taste of Spain to Swansea, people joining the celebrations can expect much of what Beaujolais Day was in its early days. Rioja Day will provide local businesses an additional opportunity to come together every year.

Swansea BID Chief Executive, Russell Greenslade said, “We have relaunched Rioja Day to complement Beaujolais Day and give the business community an additional opportunity to come together and experience the beating heart of the city. There are so many benefits from bringing people together and we’re excited to see how this could evolve into a new social calendar marker alongside Beaujolais Day.

“We want people to visit the city centre and take advantage of what’s on their doorstep. Networking and utilising our great venues to get to know others is often overlooked. Working together to make Swansea City centre a great place to visit is just one of our goals. We’re always really happy when others share that outlook. This event is just a small part we can all play to do just that, and why not have fun while doing so.”

Rioja Day will see several venues throughout the city centre get involved in festivities by creating special menus for the event. The idea behind the relaunch is to give Swansea’s business community the chance to showcase their businesses, network with others and enjoy a variety of great food and drink in the city centre.
