A wide range of bank holiday fun is on offer this weekend thanks to Swansea Council’s attractions and activities.

Many are free of charge or available at a discounted cost, helping families through the cost of living crisis.

Council leader Rob Stewart said: “We want people across the city and county to have a fantastic time this weekend.

“The attractions we run and manage range from vast sandy beaches to top quality cultural venues and from ever-popular outdoor attractions like crazy golf to the superb free-entry Blackpill Lido.”

Council-managed parks and beaches are a great option for picnics if the sun’s out.

You can take a pedalo around the Singleton Boating Lake, or try crazy golf there or at Southend Gardens.

The seafront Blackpill Lido has an outdoor water park with paddling pool plus lawns and a playground.

Oystermouth Castle is due to host a Prince and Princesses Day on Monday featuring colourful characters, music and storytelling.

Savings can be made at paid-for attractions for those Swansea residents who are part of the council’s Passport to Leisure scheme.

The council’s free bus service is running until Monday every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday meaning you can travel by bus anywhere in Swansea for free.

The council’s highly-rated cultural venues and libraries continue to run free events and activities.

The Dylan Thomas Centre, the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea Museum and the National Waterfront Museum are all free entry.

There are garden games at Swansea Museum and the chance to tackle the venue’s mouse trail.

Other activities over the bank holiday weekend include stories and crafts for the over-twos at Swansea Central Library this Saturday from 2-3pm and a summer holiday passport trail at the National Waterfront Museum.
