    Swansea serious assault victim dies

    South Wales Police can confirm that a 48-year-old woman who was the victim of a serious assault in Mayhill on December 1 has sadly died in hospital.

    Helen Bannister was a loved mother of two children who will be dearly missed by her heart broken family.

    A murder investigation has now commenced and her family continue to be supported by specialist officers. They have asked for privacy at this sad time.

    A 37-year-old man has previously been remanded by the court after being charged with GBH with intent.

    We would like to remind people of the importance of not posting anything on social media which could prejudice future court proceedings and urge you to please take care over any comments being made.
