Amazon-owned Welsh tech start-up Veeqo has opened a new headquarters in Swansea, marking continued growth for the homegrown success story which has trebled its global workforce in three years.
It’s located at the 71/72 Kingsway office scheme in the city centre developed by Swansea Council and part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal.
Veeqo produces free shipping and inventory management software for more than 100,000 businesses all over the world. The software makes e-commerce more efficient and scalable by helping businesses fulfil orders across multiple websites and stores, syncing inventory, and automatically providing low-cost shipping rates.
Acquired by Amazon in 2021, Veeqo launched its first office – and Amazon’s first ‘Development Centre’ in Wales – in 2022 and has grown from 60 employees to more than 200 in the last three years, with half of those now based at the brand-new Swansea site.
Veeqo also works closely with Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, providing placements for students while supporting 16 apprentices and 10 graduate interns, demonstrating its strong commitment to nurturing local talent and bringing high-paying tech jobs to Wales. The new Swansea headquarters will provide the Welsh team with modern facilities to continue developing cutting-edge e-commerce solutions.
CEO Matt Warren founded Veeqo in 2013 as an online seller who needed software that made shipping orders from multiple sales channels cheaper and easier.
He said: “Our expanded office in Swansea enables us to continue building services which make it easier for entrepreneurs and businesses to sell around the world.
“I’m proud that we’ve continued creating highly skilled tech jobs in Wales and that our homegrown company is making a big global impact.”
The new headquarters has now been officially opened in an event attended by Cllr Rob Stewart, Swansea Council Leader, as well as Torsten Bell, Treasury Minister and MP for Swansea West.
Cllr Stewart said: “Veeqo is a true local success story — a business born here, grown here, and now thriving internationally under Amazon. Having them at the 71/72 Kingsway development is a vote of confidence in our city’s talent, infrastructure, and future as a leading city for businesses in the tech sector.
“Staff at Veeqo are joining hundreds of staff from other companies already working at the building, with more tenants to be announced in the coming weeks.
“This development will also combine with other schemes in the city centre to create far more footfall, which will help support existing city centre traders and attract more shops and other businesses to the city centre in future.”

Other companies already based at the 71/72 Kingsway development include travel and leisure company Tui, as well as financial company Futures First.
Flexible workspace provider IWG is now fitting out their space at the scheme.
Staff from building operator Savills are also already based at 71/72 Kingsway.
The 104,000 square foot development also includes a green rooftop terrace with views over Swansea Bay, along with solar panels on top of the building and heat recovery systems to minimise energy use.
A new link between The Kingsway and Oxford Street also features.
