Dyfrig Davies, Managing Director of production company Telesgop is today stepping into the role of TAC Chair (Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru / Welsh Independent Producers) as Gareth Williams, Chief Executive of Rondo Media, steps down after three and a half years.

Dyfrig Davies is a long-standing member of TAC Council and is also Chair of Urdd Gobaith Cymru as well as being an award-winning director, producer and executive producer of live events and documentary programmes. Telesgop won a Bafta Cymru Award for Single Documentary in 2020 for ‘The Prince and the Bomber’. Dyfrig is executive producer on Telesgop’s coverage of the Royal Welsh Show and on popular and successful weekly S4C farming series ‘Ffermio’.

Gareth Williams, said: “I am delighted that Dyfrig will succeed me as TAC Chair. On behalf of TAC Council, I would like to welcome him to the role, which I know he will fulfil in his customary assured, balanced and constructive style. Dyfrig will join the new executive team at TAC, and I look forward to seeing the future developments in store for our members.ʺ

Dyfrig Davies said: “I would like to thank Gareth for his commitment to the Chair’s role since 2018. As TAC Council, we greatly appreciate his outstanding contribution to our work, which has raised our profile considerably, especially since the beginning of the pandemic. I am looking forward very much to becoming Chair, and continuing to build on TAC’s strong relationship with S4C and other broadcasters, policy-makers and regulatory bodies, and of course, our members in the production sector in Wales.ʺ
