A local hospice based in Cardiff will hold their annual charity dog walk; Wag this Way on Sunday 29th March in Bute Park. City Hospice will welcome dogs and their humans to this special event, as they raise funds to support palliative care throughout the capital.

Wag this Way 2020 will be hosted by local DJ’s Wyburn and Wayne, and also feature a special doggy warmup with the team from the Village Gym, who are sure to get everyone raring to go. Walkers will also enjoy entertainment, refreshments and a variety of dog themed stalls. The 5km route will take walkers through the beautiful setting of Bute Park, where there is plenty to interest dogs, and a few surprises along the route.

City Hospice cares for people living with terminal illness and other life limiting conditions, as well as providing counselling and support for families. Sarah Jones, who will be taking part in this year’s event with dog, Pepsi said:

“I am looking forward to the atmosphere; there is nothing better than dogs and their humans all meeting up.  There is a brilliant energy, and it’s always fun to meet other dog loving people who understand the wacky things you do for your dogs”

“My mother was diagnosed with Cancer and unfortunately there was not time to put any homecare into place.  I know the one thing she wanted to do was be at home, although I cannot fault the hospital, I know how important it is to be able to be in your own home with family. City Hospice does amazing work for so many people, not just medical but also emotional support.  Any support I can give to help fundraise to enable them to continue their work, I am happy to do.

“People should definitely sign up to this event because it is for an amazing cause and it’s going to be a great day out no matter what the weather”.

This year’s charity dog walk is sponsored by Metro Bank. Jonathan Field, Commercial Banking Director of Metro said:

“We are extremely excited at Metro Bank to be involved with City Hospice’s Wag this Way and the fact that we are the UK’s only dog friendly bank is a perfect opportunity for us to be involved and to support Cardiff’s local hospice”.

Humans can enter for £5 per person, and can bring up to two of their canine friends. Alternatively you can purchase the Full Wag this Way Package for £15 which includes entry (one human and up to two dogs), Wag this Way T shirt and a Doggy bandana.
