The Cult are delighted to announce The Alarm, The Mission and Lili Refrain will be joining them at their Cardiff Castle show on July 4th.

Described by U2’s Bono as “The second greatest rock and roll band in the world”, The Alarm have sold more than six million albums around the world since forming in North Wales in the early 1980s.

Global hits such as 1983’s The Stand – which recently triggered more than three million Spotify hits after featuring in the Netflix’ TV series 13 Reasons Why – the evergreen Sixty Eight Guns, 45 RPM, Under Attack and Superchannel have cemented their place in music history.

In 2022, The Alarm celebrated their 40th Anniversary with the release of the History Repeating Anthology before frontman Mike Peters and the band headed back to the studio to record new album Forwards.

    The Mission

Founded in Leeds back in the 1980s, The Mission have sold more than four million albums and won legions of fans around the globe.

Since their landmark 1986 debut album, God’s Own Medicine, the band has released a stunning catalogue of hit albums and singles including anthemic classics Wasteland, Tower Of Strength, Beyond The Pale, Deliverance and Butterfly On A Wheel.

The band remain one of the most exciting live acts around. They have twice headlined Reading Festival and toured the world with the likes of U2, The Cure and Robert Plant.

The Mission’s 2023 ‘Deja Vu Tour’ sees them playing venues across Europe, USA and Canada.

    Lili Refrain

Italy’s Lili Refrain has been producing incredible music for more than 15 years, constantly touring and refining her craft.

The Rome native uses electric guitar, vocals, percussions, synth and loops in real time, without using any computer or pre-recorded tracks and her stunning live shows have helped her build a cult following across Europe and beyond.

Beginning in 2007 with her self-titled debut album, it was Refrain’s third LP KAWAK that sparked widespread recognition before 2022’s Mana wowed fans with its trance-like songs and overriding message of hope.

The UK dates are the band’s first shows on home soil since last year’s six-date co-headline arena tour with Alice Cooper.

Frontman Ian Astbury and guitarist and song-writing partner Billy Duffy continue to be The Cult’s creative driving force. 2022 saw the band release Under The Midnight Sun – their acclaimed seventh UK Top 20 album.

After selling millions of records during their career, it was a case of coming full circle for Astbury and Duffy as Under The Midnight Sun, which featured the instant classic single Give Me Mercy, was recorded at Rockfield – the very same fabled Welsh studios where they recorded their 1984 debut Dreamtime.
