Big Welsh Bite – The Welsh Food Festival – is back this summer, celebrating all the culinary delights from around Wales with two fun-filled days out for all the family.

Now in its 15th year, Big Welsh Bite 2018 takes place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, the home of the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, on August 4-5. Admission is FREE.

The Council’s annual two-day food festival attracts thousands of visitors from all over. Once again this year, there will be many attractions, including a fine array of food and craft stalls and a packed itinerary of arena shows and side attractions.

Last year Subzero Ice Cream sponsored the event. If you would you like the opportunity to sponsor Big Welsh Bite 2018, then contact the Council’s Events Team on 01443 424123 or email [email protected]

Similarly if you are a food provider and exhibitor and who would like to be a part of Big Welsh Bite 2018, showcasing your offering to thousands of likeminded people, then get in touch before Friday, June 29, as spaces are filling up fast.

Cllr Maureen Webber, Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Council Business, said:

“Big Welsh Bite is such a popular family event and is always a highlight in our calendar each year, attracting thousands of visitors to our County Borough.

“The event showcases and celebrates local companies and produce, and also provides a boost to the local economy as more and more people come along to enjoy the atmosphere and surroundings at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and the surrounding area and town centre.

“Big Welsh Bite not only promotes all that we have to offer within our County Borough, but it is also an event that all of the family can enjoy.”

From cupcakes to curries, pastries to pulled pork, there will be a wide selection of stalls on both days, all offering mouth-watering treats for all culinary tastes, for visitors to sample on the day as well as to take home.

All produce available at Big Welsh Bite 2018 will be grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves, resulting in a scrumptious range of local produce.

There will also be FREE family entertainment and cookery demonstrations throughout the weekend.

There will be plenty of parking available in and around the town centre over the weekend, all within walking distance of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park. It costs just £1 to park all day in long-stay Council car parks on Saturday and FREE on Sunday.

Big Welsh Bite 2018 takes place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, the home of the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, on August 4-5, from 11am until 5pm. All are welcome. For all the latest Big Welsh Bite updates visit www.bigwelshbite.co.uk
