The Heath Hotel in Cardiff closed its doors earlier this week to allow for an exciting refurbishment before reopening as a ‘Grandstand’ sports pub. This transformation represents a significant investment of over £381,700.
The much-loved community pub will be transformed with new features designed to deliver a stadium-style experience on every visit. The refurbishment will include the installation of market-leading technology, such as a new 3-metre-long, 1.68-metre-tall screen, state-of-the-art sound systems, and flexible tiered seating to ensure a great view of the action.
A refurbished outdoor area with TV screens will also be added, and locals will be able to order through the all-new Marston’s ‘Order & Pay’ app to ensure they never miss a minute of the action.
The Heath Hotel will also be decorated with local sports memorabilia and is calling on the community to share photographs and items to help celebrate the achievements of local sports stars and teams, past and present.
Pub Partners, Paula and Terry, said: “We’re so excited to show off the new and improved pub! With a calendar of sports up ahead, the Heath Hotel will be the perfect destination to get involved in big event atmosphere and soak up the action, especially thanks to some amazing new technology, food and drink offers and events.”
Located on the edge of Cardiff city centre, the Heath Hotel is a community pub perfectly situated for locals and students to relax with a drink, catch the latest sports fixture, or refuel with some food after taking a walk around the nearby Bute Park or visiting the Roath Park conservatory.
Once reopened, the pub will show all key sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, horse racing, and more. Regulation dart boards and pool tables will return, alongside new competition leagues and free-to-play recreational sessions.
A new range of bar food has been introduced, perfect for half-time and for sharing. The ‘Match Day Menu’ will feature hand-held bites, such as chicken wings and nachos, sitting alongside pub favourites such as fish and chips and burgers. The Heath Hotel has also refreshed its range of drinks, and all draught beer is available in 2-pint cups.
Local sports teams will be able to apply for a ‘Black Card’, giving them access to exclusive offers, endless chips on team nights, and rewards for celebrating wins at their local.
