They’re the first big name to be confirmed for the free-entry spectacular due to take place over Swansea Bay on July 6 and 7. The annual show is being organised by the council.

The Red Arrows are due to attend on the Saturday – and there’ll be many other stars of the skies and a wide range of family fun on the ground throughout the big weekend, including displays, virtual reality experiences and live music.

Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “It’s amazing to have the Red Arrows back again, especially in this their 60th anniversary year when they have a busy schedule including a five-week international summer tour.”

This summer’s highlights will also include James Arthur, Classic Ibiza and Let’s Rock Wales playing Singleton Park.

Cllr Francis-Davies said: “The airshow contributes millions of pounds to Swansea’s local businesses and our local economy. Among the stars of the show are the tens of thousands of people who enjoy a day out or a weekend here.”
