The Snowman will be flying into the Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli this December with a special show guaranteed to enchant audience members of all ages.

The classic animation film will be shown on the big screen with the timeless soundtrack performed live by The Welsh Film Orchestra with performances on Saturday 18th December and Sunday 19th December. The story will be narrated by Carmarthen-born Welsh baritone, Mark Evans. Mark is delighted to be returning to his home county with this unique Christmas offering, as he explains: “It’s what we all dream of – home for Christmas. I couldn’t be more excited to be narrating The Snowman on home turf. After the last 18 months of restrictions, it’s time to pull out the crackers and start walking in the air. See you all there”.

As well as the film screening with live musical score, the 70-minute show will also feature a packed programme of Christmas music and Christmas sing-a-longs the whole can enjoy. And there will even be a surprise visit from the man in the red suit too, yes, Santa will be there!

Two local singers have been chosen to perform the aria made famous by Aled Jones, Walking in the Air. 13-year-old Megan Wyn Morris who attends Llandovery College is the principal chorister, while 9-year-old Ffion Wyn Bickford from Llangadog Primary School will perform for one of the shows. It will be the professional debut for both young singers who are eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to perform on the main stage at the Ffwrnes, as Megan said: “The Snowman is a film I’ve grown up watching so it’s amazing to be part of this live show. And having the opportunity to perform alongside The Welsh Film Orchestra is just a dream come true.”

The Snowman with live orchestra will be at the Ffwrnes Theatre on Saturday 18th December at 1pm and 3:30pm (with BSL interpretation) and Sunday 19th December at 12pm, 2:30pm and 5pm. Tickets are on sale and available to purchase online at www.theatrausirgar.co.uk or by calling the box office on 0345 226 3510 which is open Thursday and Friday 10am – 3pm.
