The Works has officially opened the doors to its brand-new store in Newport, welcoming customers and bringing an enhanced shopping experience to the local community.
The store, located at Newport Retail Park, NP19 4QQ, has created an estimated 6 additional jobs for the area.
With a The Works store already located at 171 Commercial Street, Newport, the new opening provides local shoppers with even greater access to market-leading deals and big-brand products.
Founded in 1981, The Works makes creativity, learning and screen‑free fun accessible to all, offering great value across books, arts and crafts, toys, games and stationery. Focused on affordability and family‑friendly experiences, the retailer is committed to inspiring imagination and helping customers enjoy simple, everyday moments at prices that represent outstanding value.
Vikki Tooth, Store Manager at The Works, Newport, said: “It’s been fantastic to see this new store come together, creating a place where customers can enjoy browsing a wide range of books, crafts and activities at great value.
There’s genuinely something for everyone to enjoy, and it’s been great to see customers already discovering the range and making the most of everything the store has to offer.”
Debbie Jamieson, Chief People and Retail Officer at The Works, added: “We’re delighted to be opening our new store in Newport, giving customers even more choice when it comes to great-value books, crafts and creative activities.
“At The Works, we’re passionate about helping people switch off, get creative and spend quality time together, and we’re really pleased to be bringing that experience to the local community in Newport.
“It’s been fantastic to welcome our first customers through the doors, and we’re excited to see the store quickly become a go-to destination for families, hobbyists and anyone looking for a little inspiration.”
