The Claude pub in Roath re-opened its famous doors last weekend following a six-figure refurbishment by national pub operator and brewer Greene King.

As part of the investment, the Claude, on Albany Road, has undergone a total refurbishment, including brand new bar and dining areas, full decorations throughout and new areas dedicated to dining and sports viewing.

The pub, famous for being one of the largest venues outside of the city centre, now boasts a totally different look and feel for patrons who can enjoy late night entertainment on a specially designed dance floor, as well as new pool areas and a feature length bar boasting a new selection of local, national and international brands including new cask and craft ales. The pub also becomes one of the only venues in Cardiff to include new Corona draught on sale.

Tony Kightley, General Manager at the Claude, said: “The Claude is at the heart of the Cardiff community, so we are excited to be able to offer a place where locals can enjoy a drink or meal in enhanced surroundings.

“I have managed the pub for more than 15 years, so it’s really exciting to have undergone such a transformational refurbishment that has really added the ‘wow’ factor.

“The opening was a real success, and we have been inundated with enquiries from locals eager to return. We look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks to enjoy our new offering, extensive live entertainment and impressive live sports coverage that we are known for!”

Guests can enjoy two meals for £9.99 all day every day including favourites such as steak and ale pie, lasagne and hunter’s chicken. A delicious carvery roast is also available on Sundays from 12pm-4pm, served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, mash potato, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The Claude also offers a wide selection of drink deals, such as two bottles of beer for £5 and refreshing cocktails from £3.99.
