Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the M4 in Newport this afternoon following traffic issues on the westbound carriageway.

According to Traffic Wales, the disruption is affecting the M4 westbound between Junction 24 Coldra and Junction 26 Malpas.

Drivers travelling through the area are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys while congestion clears.

Traffic Wales shared the update on social media, warning road users of delays along the stretch heading westbound.

There are currently no further details on the cause of the congestion.
