The New Saints are delighted to announce the signing of both Yasmin and Mia Evans, with the twin sisters joining the club on a permanent basis ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Both hailing from Shrewsbury, Yasmin and Mia, aged 22, make the move to Park Hall having most recently played their football in the United States on football scholarships at West Virginia State University.

The pair may be familiar names to supporters of The New Saints, as they both represented the club previously during its time in the FA Women’s National League.

Yasmin is a central defensive midfielder, while sister Mia plays centre back but can also play on the right side of defence. Both players have also spent time with Shrewsbury Town Juniors in the past, and they’ll now be looking to kick on, as The Saints embark on an exciting new era.

After experiencing college soccer in the U.S., both Yasmin and Mia will be looking to make their mark in the Genero Adran Premier this season, in what will be the club’s first season operating in a semi-professional model.

As a result of the new set up, all players will be on professional contracts and will have access to a range of world-class facilities and coaching at the club’s Park Hall home, including a state-of-the-art industry leading gymnasium. Additionally, the move to a semi-professional model will allow the players more on-pitch training time, as well as enhanced analysis and strength & conditioning sessions, allowing the club to strive to be fighting at the top of the Genero Adran Premier.

Shauna Duffy, Head Coach at The New Saints said:

“I am excited to have signed both Yas and Mia ahead of the upcoming season. They join the club with a good football background following their recent scholarships in the USA. They bring plenty of quality, technically and physically they stood out throughout the open sessions a few weeks ago, but they are still only 22 so have room to grow at the club as well which is also extremely pleasing.

“Both have a great attitude towards the game and I am looking forward to working with them throughout the season ahead.”

    Yasmin Evans said:

“I am delighted to sign for The New Saints. They are a club that I know very well having grown up in the area and previously having played for, so it’s a pleasure to sign for the club. TNS is a club that is progressing really well on and off the pitch, so it’s somewhere I know I’ll be able to play my best football and keep developing as a player. I am excited for the season ahead and seeing what we can achieve.”

    Mia Evans said:

“I am so pleased to sign for The New Saints, it’s a great club and there’s lots happening on and off the pitch that make it an attractive place to play football. Having recently returned from America, I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and having a successful season when everything gets underway.”
