Two people have been charged following a burglary at a flat in Cardiff city centre over the weekend.
Police were called to Branksome House on Westgate Street at around 7am on Saturday, September 26, after the occupants of a property were woken by someone inside their home.
The occupants also heard the sound of their front door closing.
Two suspects were arrested nearby following the incident and stolen property was found.
Melissa Balmont, 43, from Splott, and Darren Jones, 40, from Butetown, have since been charged in connection with the burglary at Branksome House.
Police said they understood that being a victim of burglary can be traumatic and remained committed to catching those responsible.
Balmont and Jones appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 28.
Both have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Cardiff Crown Court for a further hearing next month.
