The University of South Wales (USW) is offering the funding for first year students who start their degree this September.

They must study at least one third of their course – 40 credits – in Welsh during their first year to qualify for the funding.

The courses included in the scholarship scheme are Business Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Event Management, Theatr a Drama, Primary Studies with QTS, Police Sciences, Construction Project Management, or Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management.

USW’s Head of Welsh, Dr Gwawr Jones, said: “USW is keen to encourage applications from a diverse range of potential undergraduates and attract the best students.

“We want to give those who wish to study in Welsh a chance to thrive in a large number of subjects.

“These scholarships will support students to carry out their studies in Welsh, and give them the confidence to work bilingually in their chosen careers when they leave USW.”
