A pop-up in Cardiff will be giving away free gourmet hot dogs, complete with luxury table service, for one day only on Monday (24th September). The ‘Posh Sausage Pop-Up’ will be open for business from 12pm outside the Capitol Centre in Cardiff city centre.

[aoa id=”1″]Run by Porc.Wales, the home for Wales’ specialist pork farmers, producers and butchers, this one-off pop-up with a twist is set to showcase the best of pork from Wales to the people of Cardiff. A team of black-tie waiters will greet diners and offer luxury table service while they dine on some of Wales’ finest pork produce, all cooked at the portable hot dog cart by pork expert Elwen Roberts of Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales).[/aoa]

We’re really passionate to have a network of featured suppliers who are proud to produce delicious, quality pork in Wales. Pork from Wales is reared in smaller herds and reared for longer, which means bigger flavour. Not only that, but the climate and landscape in Wales provides a natural environment to produce quality pork. Which is why we wanted to showcase the best of Welsh posh sausages and prove that, when it comes to pork from Wales, you don’t need a five star kitchen to produce a gourmet food experience.

    – Kirstie Jones, Market Development Officer at Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales)

Choosing the best sausage for the job was no easy feat and back in July, at the Royal Welsh Show, a competition amongst producers asking them to put their ‘best sausage forward’ was held to find the perfect supplier for the pop-up. All entries were very high quality and it was a tough call, but with the help of judge Scott Quinnell, a winner was selected. The all important winner was Gwynedd-based Oinc Oink, with their amazing blend of the finest pork from Wales, coupled with South Caernarfon Creameries’ Vintage Welsh Cheddar.

We’re really excited to open our Posh Sausage Pop-Up on the 24th September and can’t wait to showcase the wonderful Welsh sausages from Oinc Oink, completely free. We hope the people of Cardiff enjoy a hot-dog stand with a difference and enjoy truly local produce, with a five star waiting service to match.

    – Kirstie Jones, Market Development Officer at Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales)

The winners on Monday will be those who arrive early. Are you ready for this Posh Sausage Pop-Up? Service starts at 12pm and the hot dog cart will be located outside the Capitol Centre in Cardiff on Monday (24th September).
