Wales Netball and Dragons have announced a new 12-month partnership with technology specialist Configur, which becomes the Official Innovation Partner for both the national governing body and Wales’ only Netball Super League team.

The agreement marks Configur’s first partnership in women’s sport, making it a landmark moment for the company and a proud milestone for Wales Netball as it accelerates delivery of its Ymladd 2030 strategy.

As Official Innovation Partner, Configur will give Wales Netball and the Dragons a single, intelligent platform to run their commercial operations, bringing sponsorship, hospitality and partnership information together in one place. Through configurable dashboards, smart insights and automated reporting, the platform will help the commercial team track performance in real time, strengthen relationships with partners and identify new opportunities to grow.

The partnership supports the business operations pillar of Ymladd 2030, Wales Netball’s five-year strategy to grow the game, strengthen the performance pathway and build a sustainable future for the sport from grassroots to elite. By putting smarter technology and innovation at the heart of its commercial work, Wales Netball is laying the foundations for long-term, sustainable growth across both the organisation and the Dragons.

Sarah Boswell, Chief Executive Officer, Wales Netball, said: “This is a truly innovative partnership and a real reflection of the ambitious work we are doing through Ymladd 2030 to grow our sport and our club. Harnessing innovative technology in this way will help us operate smarter, serve our partners better and make the most of every opportunity.

“I’d like to thank Configur and warmly welcome them on board as our Official Innovation Partner. We’re proud to be their first partnership in women’s sport and we look forward to the positive impact they will have for Wales Netball and the Dragons in the months and years ahead.”

Marco Oliver, Chief Executive Officer, Configur said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Wales and Dragons Netball. As our first partnership in women’s sport, it’s one that means a lot to me personally. As a dad to two girls aged seven and five, I’ve become really passionate about supporting women’s sport.

“We’re excited to be working alongside the fantastic teams at both clubs throughout the season. I’ve really enjoyed the games we’ve been to as a family so far, and the speed in which the game is played is incredible to see live. I can’t wait to attend more this season! If you haven’t been to a game before I highly recommend for you to start now!”
