Wales is off to a cold and rather grey start today. Any early brightness in the east will fade quickly, with rain pushing into the west this morning.

The wet weather becomes more widespread and breezier as the afternoon goes on. It stays on the chilly side, although it should feel a bit milder across the south and west later on. Temperatures will peak around 8C.

This evening looks wet for many areas but conditions should turn drier overnight, apart from the odd patch of drizzly rain. It is likely to turn quite murky over higher ground. Temperatures will rise through the night and it will feel very mild by the early hours as southwesterly winds pick up. The lowest temperature will be about 7C.

Thursday brings a cloudy and rather windy day with rain at times. There may be the odd brighter spell later on. It will be much milder than recent days, though the wind may take the edge off. The top temperature should reach 13C.

Looking ahead to Friday through to Sunday, the weather stays unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain. There will be some drier and brighter moments, especially as we move into the weekend. It will turn colder again and remain quite windy at times.
