Nilaqua, a leading waterless washing brand, has launched an extended range of innovative pet-washing products.

Designed to remove the hassle of washing pets while being kind to the environment, these groundbreaking products simplify pet hygiene for owners while ensuring the utmost care for pets’ skin and fur.

Nilaqua was the first company in the UK to introduce waterless pet shampoos, endorsed by vets who recognised the product’s potential and effectiveness. Since then, Nilaqua has been at the forefront of waterless washing innovation.

Produced at the firm’s manufacturing base in Swansea, each product is formulated with a blend of natural, biodegradable and safe ingredients, ensuring a gentle yet effective pet cleaning experience.

“With the rise in demand for no-rinse pet shampoos, we’ve invested significantly in updating our product range to address a wide range of hygiene needs whilst also addressing environmental issues,” said Jess Efford, co-founder of Nilaqua.

“Unlike typical sprays or foams, our deep cleansing liquid penetrates past mud to the skin, lifting dirt out of the fur and into the solution, which is then easily removed with a towel.”

The new Nilaqua eco pet range includes:

    1. Puppy Shampoo: Gentle and enriched with vitamin E, perfect for young and sensitive skin.
    2. Poo Shampoo: Specially formulated with a blend of fragrances to neutralise the unpleasant odour of fox poo.
    3. Muddy Paw Shampoo: Features a foaming burst action that effectively lifts mud from fur.
    4. Beach Day Shampoo: Designed to remove sand, with extra conditioners to counteract the effects of sea salt.
    5. Critter Shampoo: Contains essential oils that naturally repel ticks and fleas and is pesticide-free.
    6. Older Dog Shampoo: This gentle formula is ideal for dogs with urinary incontinence or other issues that make frequent bathing difficult.
    7. Colognes and detangle sprays: These are designed to leave your pet’s coat smelling fresh and feeling silky smooth while effortlessly removing knots and tangles.

    Jess Efford explained:

“Our products are all made ethically in the UK and are carefully crafted with water-based, biodegradable ingredients that are vegan-friendly and gentle on pets. The shampoos are designed to tackle common pet problems without water, making them convenient and efficient.

“At Nilaqua, we are dedicated to leading the way in eco-friendly pet care, and sustainability is at the core of our operations. Our manufacturing facility is powered by solar panels, ensuring that our production processes rely on 100% renewable energy. All our products are packaged in 100% recycled bottles, and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and waste wherever possible.

“Pet owners can help conserve limited water resources by using our waterless products, contributing to a healthier planet.”

Tammie Fox, CEO of disabled pet charity Pumpkin and Friends, has praised the product range:

“We love all the products by Nilaqua Pets. They are particularly useful when you have a disabled pet, especially an incontinent one. The towel-off shampoo is so helpful when cleaning and caring for incontinent bottoms. No water or baths are needed, which is extremely convenient. The products smell fabulous, too, which is a bonus.”

Greyhound Rescue Wales is a long-term partner of Nilaqua and uses the brand’s pet shampoo to clean stressed dogs when they arrive at its shelter. Alain Thomas, founder of the charity, said:

“When greyhounds come into our kennels, a wash or a shower is always a nice thing to do for them, but they can be frightened. You can apply Nilaqua Pets by giving the dog a gentle massage. It removes the mud, dirt, and odours, leaving the coat clean and dry.

“The pets are happier with a Nilaqua waterless wash, and it can be done in sections if it gets too much for the dog. On a personal note, we take our dog on holidays to Europe, and Nilaqua Pets’ Natural Repellent shampoo is a godsend for avoiding nasty critter bites!”

The new range is stocked in Jollyes and will be sold online at waterlessdogshampoo.co.uk. Nilaqua will also feature the range at the Pet and Aquatics Trade Show (PATS) in Telford from 29 September to 1 October 2024.

    Jess Efford concluded:

“Our new range is ideal for cleaning your dog quickly after a muddy walk or freshening up your pet after a roll in fox poo, all without the hassle of a full bath. Our new range is perfect for busy pet owners who want effective and gentle cleaning solutions that are also eco-friendly.

“We’ve tailored each product to solve specific problems, making pet care simpler and more enjoyable. With our waterless shampoos, caring for your pet’s hygiene has never been easier.”
