A £300,000 investment from the Development Bank of Wales is set to drive the next phase of growth for Bridgend-based campervan conversion specialists Holbrook Customs.
Delivered through the Wales Flexible Investment Fund, the investment will allow Holbrook Customs to boost production, expand its team and bring more work in‑house, while strengthening local job creation and a growing regional supply chain.
Owned and run by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Candice Holbrook, the business began with their shared passion for VW campervans. Both had converted their own vehicles for years before taking on projects for friends, and demand quickly grew as they promoted their work on social media and at VW rallies. Having recently moved into a 16,000 sq. ft. unit, the business now operates from one of the largest dedicated campervan conversion facilities in Wales.
The latest investment from the Development Bank will support the business as it increases production capacity, including the development of four pre‑built units each month in response to strong and consistent customer demand. It will also help Holbrook Customs grow its skilled workforce, an important step in meeting demand while creating new employment opportunities locally.
The introduction of an in‑house spray booth will reduce outsourcing, improve efficiency and allow more of the company’s spend to stay within Wales. Targeted upgrades are also planned to its premises, showroom and branding.
The latest investment follows an earlier £40,000 micro loan from the Development Bank to the business in 2022.
