The 'Pizza Boys'
Join BBC Wales’ Pizza Boys and Rugby Warfare Founder, Scott Flear to hear their advice on how to start a successful business
Open to all, ‘Local Business Heroes – Success Stories’ will run on 7th July 2021 from 12:00 – 15:00 and will feature award winning speakers including: Ieuan Harry of Ffwrnes Pizza, AKA the ‘Pizza Boys’ from the BBC Wales TV Series, and Scott Flear, founder of Welsh-based rugby clothing brand Rugby Warfare and CEO of fitness specialists trtle.com.
Both are entrepreneurs from South West Wales who have developed their passions into flourishing businesses, with global ambitions and gained widespread recognition in the process.
Ieuan and childhood friend Jez Phillips began their pizza journey with trusty friend Smokey Pete, a three-wheeled van that played a starring role beside them on the recent BBC series, ‘Pizza Boys’. The ultimate foodie road trip where they take Smokey Pete across Europe to compete at the Pizza World Championships.
Scott started his first business when he was 16. Since then, he started TRTLE, a fitness company, and Rugby Warfare, a clothing brand. Both based in Wales, the businesses bring money into the Welsh economy from around the world.
Following the successful first virtual conference in 2020, the Team at Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub are shining a light on local business heroes in South West Wales as part of their second virtual conference.
Hosted by Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub and Wales Co-Operative Centre, this fully funded event is an excellent chance to hear how local businesses have developed and succeeded.
“This conference is a celebration of local businesses and is ideal for anyone who is looking for inspiration to try their hand at turning their passion into a thriving enterprise, or diversifying their existing business to serve demand on a worldwide playing field,” commented Angharad Harding, Hub Manager at Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub.
“This is truly an inspirational event for anyone that has any interest in Welsh enterprise. We have two lifelong friends who have managed to have their business exploits feature as a prime time TV series on BBC Wales. We also have the story of a young entrepreneur who began his entrepreneurial journey at 16, and in a short space of time, has founded and developed a rugby clothing brand that is now competing on a global stage.  This a celebration of what great achievements can be made by our very own Welsh entrepreneurs,” said Paul Stepczak, Bids and Commercial Consultant at Wales Co-Operative Centre.
Spaces are limited and tickets are required for this fully funded event. Click here to book your tickets.
