    Welsh Fitness Hall of Fame to recognise trail blazing athletes

    The Welsh Fitness Expo is delighted to announce the launch of the inaugural Welsh Fitness Hall of Fame at the 2024 Welsh Fitness Expo.

    The Welsh Fitness Hall of Fame will recognise the Welsh athletes who’ve blazed a trail through the fitness world, putting Wales and their sport on the map! The hall of fame will celebrate athletes from across the fitness spectrum including, Bodybuilding, Strongman & Strongwoman, Powerlifting, CrossFit, Boxing, MMA, and Special Inductees.

    The first inductee into the 2024 hall of fame is, Amy Meredith.  Amy is one of the greatest bodybuilders to ever come out of Wales. Over the last decade, she’s competed against some of the best athletes on the planet. Every season Amy has improved on the road to achieving her ambition of becoming of a fully-fledged professional bodybuilder. Amy is one of the most humble and hardworking athletes, who not only dedicates her time to achieving her ambitions but helping others in the fitness community. Amy’s competition record is second to none, IFBB Pro Figure – 2023, 5X Overall Figure Titles, 9X Figure Class Wins, British Masters Figure Champion – 2020, Top 3 British and Universe – 2022.

    Amy said, “Wales has some phenomenal athletes. I feel very privileged to be able to stand on the biggest stages as ambassador for Wales. To be in the Welsh Fitness Hall of Fame means the world to me, so from the bottom of my heart thank you! I hope to make you all proud.”

    The second inductee is Chris Jenkins. Chris is one of the greatest strength athletes Wales and the World has ever produced. Pound for Pound Chris is a superhuman athlete who’s not only defeated the best athletes on the planet, but he’s also smashed records along the way. Chris is also deeply committed to supporting and educating the next generation of talent in Wales. Chris is an inspiration to the Welsh Fitness Community. Chris’s record is outstanding, X3 Senior World Champion, X3 Olympia Pro Invitational Champion, X3 Winner of Wales’s Strongest Man u90Kg, Welsh Axle Press Record Holder.

    Chris said, “I’m incredibly honoured to be inducted into the Welsh Fitness Hall of Fame. As an athlete, there is nothing I’m prouder of than representing Wales on the world stage. Showing the rest of the planet how good Wales, our athletes and our country is! I Hope to continue representing Wales, educating the next generation of strength athletes, and smashing world records for many years to come.”

    Welsh Fitness Expo Founder, Wesley Skene said, “At the Welsh Fitness Expo, we are hugely focused on shining a light on this gigantic undiscovered industry and the athletes that call it home. Wales spearheads the fitness industry in the UK, and Europe. The expo gives the public a chance to meet their sporting heroes and experience the Welsh and global brands that are a key part of the fitness community.”

    The Welsh Fitness Hall of Fame is being held on day 2 of the Wels Fitness Expo – Sunday June 30 at the ICC Wales.
