Caerphilly-based EffectiveHRM has been named as the HR delivery partner for the human resources element of new Amazon Small Business Accelerator, a major support package for small businesses, which was launched earlier this week.

The Accelerator will support more than 200,000 small businesses and start-ups across Wales and the rest of the UK and is run in partnership with small business support network Enterprise Nation.

In response to COVID-19 and the impact of the economic lockdown on small businesses, the Amazon Small Business Accelerator will deliver a free online training programme in digital skills including e-commerce, finance, marketing and building and managing a team.

Those who sign up to the new programme will also benefit from exclusive free access to PitStopHR, the online HR portal run by EffectiveHRM. This includes access to HR templates and expert guidance notes.

Emma del Torto, Managing Director, EffectiveHRM said: “It’s really exciting for us to have been selected as HR partners for this great new programme from Amazon and Enterprise Nation. It wasn’t so long ago that we were a small start-up ourselves so we know just how important it is to be able to access support that can help to accelerate business growth.

“Working with business owners and industry leaders over the last few months, we also  know only too well how Covid-19 is impacting organisations of all sizes. Our recovery as a nation is going to be dependent upon us all working together and supporting each other through this difficult time. We’re delighted to have had our expertise recognised by a leading global brand like Amazon and be playing our part in the nation’s recovery.”

As part of the Accelerator, Amazon and Enterprise Nation will run week-long bootcamps to provide additional, tailored personal training and expertise for up to 1,000 mostly offline start-ups and small businesses to help them trade online. A five-day live online course includes access to experts and peer-to-peer networking. Bootcamp participants can also access 12 months of support from a wide range of accredited advisers covering topics on marketing, operations and managing finances as well as a range of benefits including discounts and credits from Amazon and partners.

Join Enterprise Nation and Amazon on June 26 for the first ever virtual Amazon Academy.

You'll get the chance to put any burning questions to a panel of small business experts across IP, accounting, law and HR – featuring our very own Emma del Torto.https://t.co/nvhzhQ0Qg7 pic.twitter.com/pyU8URqLlY

The first ever virtual Amazon Academy is taking place on Friday 26 June – a free two-hour event to introduce businesses to the world of selling online – ideal for people who want to learn more before they embark on the Amazon Small Business Accelerator. Emma del Torto, Managing Director of EffectiveHRM will speak alongside entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den investor Jenny Campbell who will be sharing her business story and insights on what entrepreneurs should consider when looking for investments and scaling a business. The event will also include industry leaders and talks from Amazon experts on the best ways to address the business challenges presented by the health crisis.

Speaking about the Accelerator, Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon said: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of the economy and by helping them we can help families, communities and the UK bounce back more quickly. We have a long track record of supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, with more than half of all products sold on Amazon stores coming from our selling partners. Many businesses have found their way through the crisis by providing goods and services online. Now the Amazon Small Business Accelerator with Enterprise Nation will provide thousands of offline and online businesses with the skills, tools and support they need to succeed in the digital world, to reach customers through Amazon or any other service.”
