Wales is famous for a few entities: Gareth Bale, dragons, and a rugged coastline, but it should also be recognized for some outstanding cuisine too. As the game of poker has expanded around the world, we’ve broadened our search to Wales to find some amazing new snacks to help us. pro poker players gamble on these sites, so what’s the best accompaniment to make the experience even better?

    Glamorgan sausage

A sausage which is naturally vegetarian? Yep, that’s the offering from Glamorgan. The Glamorgan sausage is traditionally made from cheese, leek, and breadcrumbs served in the shape of a conventional sausage. Onions can be used in some variations too. This is a great option for those who want a filling meal so that they aren’t distracted from their online poker session by hunger.

    Cawl (Welsh stew)

There can be nothing better in the winter months than a hearty stew. Cawl is the Welsh national stew. Linguistically, cawl is the Welsh language word for soup, which lends itself to this dish as the sauce isn’t typically thick. The meat varies between lamb and beef but always contains many vegetables like leeks, potatoes, swedes, and carrots. As a result of these ingredients, cawl is always nutrient-rich and provides online poker players with natural vitamins and proteins to keep playing throughout a lengthy session.

    Conwy mussels

The northern town of Conwy is one place in Wales that prides itself on quality seafood. The mussels caught in the nearby waters are famous for being much more significant than those found in the supermarket and are usually much fresher! These make for a tremendous mid-poker game snack, as online poker players can de-shell the mussels and enjoy the fleshy fish meat from the inside. The protein and omega-3 acids should provide an energizing focus to those eating them.

    Welsh rarebit (aka Welsh rabbit)

Despite having the word ‘rabbit’ in the name, Welsh cultural historians have concluded that at no point during the origin of this meal rabbit was an ingredient. Instead, this is an elevated version of cheese on toast. Simple versions are just that, while some concoct a cheese sauce with ale, mustard and other garnishes and then bake it on the toast. Due to the high carbohydrate content, this meal will keep online poker players fuller for longer, meaning they are less likely to leave their session for a snack as they will be full from the Welsh rarebit.

    Bara brith (Welsh fruit loaf)

Some foods haven’t made it out of Wales. It would be challenging to find bara brith being sold anywhere other than the Welsh countryside. It is a traditional Welsh bread that is supposed to be served with tea as the bread is flavoured with dry fruits like orange, raisins, and currants. Unfortunately, the bread has taken a nose dive in popularity, with mainstream supermarkets famously taking it off their shelves in the mid-2000s. If you find some or make it at home, it might benefit an online poker session as the dried fruits will help sustenance with natural sugars and energy – meaning that you won’t need excessive caffeine during your session.

    Caerphilly cheese

With its affluent rural areas, south Wales is home to a few notable cheese varieties. One of the most popular is Caerphilly cheese from mid-Glamorgan. This moist, crumbly cheese was an answer to cheddar but is slightly sour and has more of a noticeable smell, making for a more complex flavor. This is a great choice when playing online poker, as the high protein and fat content will give you a little energy boost, helping you keep playing your online poker session.

    Crempog (Welsh pancakes)

Pancakes are great, aren’t they? It’s a tragedy that some people only eat them on pancake day (known as Shrove Tuesday in religious circles). Crempog is the Welsh equivalent of American pancakes with more savory notes. Each pancake has its distinct topping, making it a very versatile snack. Furthermore, crempog pancakes tend to be pretty small – so they are easy to consume when playing online poker.

    Gambling statement

Underage gambling is an offence. You must be over 18 years old to gamble.

Any form of gambling should always be fun, playing in a way that is right for you. It’s good to set limits, take time out or set up reminders.

Please gamble responsibly and in moderation.
