Which Welsh Businesses Have Suffered Most Due To The Global Pandemic

The global pandemic caused by Covid-19 has affected virtually all businesses around the world as many have had to shut up shop to combat the spread of the virus. However, there has been some businesses in Wales that have been affected more than others and below we investigate why this is and how they are going to return once the pandemic is over.

The first industry in Wales that has been affected probably the worst out of all the business there is certainly hospitality.  Pubs, clubs and restaurants have been highlighted by the Welsh government to be a hot spot for the spread of the virus due to increased social activity and therefore have been shut for the majority of the lockdown with many shutting for good due to not being able to survive the pandemic. Moving forwards, they will be hoping for government grants to ensure their survival whilst Wales is still in lockdown.

Although the majority of industries have been affected in a negative way, however, there has been some industries that have actually benefitted from this period, and none other than online casinos which can be found here. This is because many have been forced to stay at home to combat the spread of the virus and have therefore been looking for forms of entertainment in their home. Online casinos have been able to offer this as well as the opportunity to create a profit from the comfort of their own homes.

Another industry that has been severely affected during this period is that of public transport. Many have been anxious about using public transport during this time as many have been trying to avoid public interaction as best, they can and with public transport, its difficult to do this. Moving forward, the Welsh government are going to have to put procedures in place to ensure that the general public feels safe when travelling on public transport as buses and trains have been ghost towns since the introduction of the global pandemic back in March.

And finally, hairdressers and beauty salons have also been highlighted by the government to be one of the areas that the spread of the virus is most likely to happen. Hairdressers, barbers and nail salons have since had to shut their doors under government guidelines and have seen their businesses ceased due to this so many have struggled to keep float during this time. Again, they’ll be looking for support from the government to ensure that they will still be able to survive when this pandemic is open; many will be missing their beauty treatments and will be dying to get sorted.
