White bridge reopens for the community following repair scheme

Berw Road Bridge (White Bridge) in Pontypridd has reopened to two-way traffic and pedestrians following major repairs to the Listed structure.

The Council’s most recent update on July 12 confirmed that the scheme had entered its final stages.

In recent days, final resurfacing and white lining work has been completed on the bridge, while the installation of an illuminated handrail providing streetlighting has been installed.

Resurfacing work nearby at The Parade has also progressed, with the completion of the two schemes being coordinated to avoid further disruption in the future.

White Bridge has now reopened to two-way traffic and pedestrians (Thursday, July 25), to re-establish a key local link for the community.

While the scheme is now substantially complete, traffic management will be needed later this year to repair the ornamental railings on the southern approach to the bridge.
