    Woman sentenced for drug and weapon offences in Bridgend

    A 42-year-old woman has been sentenced for her role in the supply of drugs in Bridgend.

    On Sunday, November 26, 2023 officers attached to our Organised Crime Unit (ICU) executed a Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address on Heol Loveluck, Bridgend.

    Whilst officers were inside Karen Louise Amos attempted to discard bags of Class A drugs by ripping them open and throwing the contents around the living room.

    A number of items were recovered and seized by officers which were consistent with possession with intent to supply (PWITS) offences.

    Karen Amos was sentenced on March 5 at Cardiff Crown Court to five years and six months having pleaded guilty to.

    • PWITS a quantity of “crack” cocaine
    • PWITS a quantity of diamorphine
    • possession a weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of a thing, namely a gas canister .
    • possession a weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of a thing, namely sting ring stun device.
    • possession a weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of a thing, namely a knuckle blaster stun device.

    Detective Sergeant Lia Jones said:

    “The execution of drugs warrants such as this shows our unwavering commitment to targeting those involved in this sort of criminality.

    “South Wales Police is intent in disrupting the activities of those involved in the supply of drugs into Bridgend County in order that we can protect the most vulnerable people in our communities.”
