FinTech company Yoello has been named Technology Business of the Year at the Cardiff Business Awards.

The Cardiff-based business, which provides the hospitality industry with a cheaper, instantaneous and secure way to manage payments, has gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months as it has helped the hospitality industry navigate the changes in the market following the COVID-19 outbreak.

The awards reflect Yoello’s rapid growth – it has grown from a team of 4 to a group of 36 in less than a year – and follows on from the FCA-regulated company winning Fintech Start-Up of the Year and Mobile and Emerging Technologies Start-up of the Year at the 2020 Wales Start-Up Awards.

The Cardiff Business Awards Ceremony brought businesses together for the first time in 2015, to recognise those making a difference in trying times. Judges this year included Frank Holmes of Gambit Corporate Finance, Ken Poole, Cardiff Council’s Head of Economic Development and Nick Saunders, Founder of Depot Cardiff.

With over fifty Cardiff based businesses shortlisted for different awards this year, Yoello was up against a number of established Welsh brands. but the judges were particularly impressed by Yoello’s clear “commitment to research and development, continued innovation and future growth potential”

Sina Yamani, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Yoello, said:

“It has certainly been a year to remember for the team here at Yoello and winning the Technology Business of the Year award is a great way to finish off a successful 2020.

From a team of four to nearly forty full-time members of staff, who have worked tirelessly, to not just launch our platform but to ensure continued support for our merchants facing some of the toughest industry limitations of our lifetime.

We are looking ahead to our exciting plans for 2021 and continuing to grow the Yoello family.”
