Stefanie, who previously attended Ysgol St Baruc, achieved top marks in Art, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths and the Welsh Baccalaureate.

She was elected as one of the Bro Morgannwg’s Head Pupils this year and combines her studies with ballet, which she performs at a high level, and is preparing to sit her grade 8 guitar examination.

Stefanie’s performance comes after a Vale of Glamorgan Council drive to improve Welsh medium educational provision.

The county has seven Welsh medium schools, with St Baruc moving into a new building on Barry Waterfront that boasts a range of ultra-modern facilities in 2023.

Ysgol Bro Morgannwg has undergone extensive improvement work since 2020 that has seen the creation of a 3G rugby pitch, sports hall, three-storey teaching block, a multi-use games area, new Design and Technology block and Learning Resource Centre.

The Council also has a strong ongoing commitment to continue supporting and developing Welsh medium provision.

Stefanie’s success illustrates what can be achieved when such investment is coupled with hard work

“The range of subjects studied was impressive and demonstrates Stefanie’s versatility,” said Headteacher Rhys Jones.

“Stefanie is a truly impressive human being and will be successful in whatever she chooses to do in the future.

“This is the first time in my career that I can remember anyone achieving six A* grades.

“To top it all, Stefanie is a delightful girl. She always shows great humility and will always go the extra mile to help others, be that helping fellow pupils with their work or organising charity events as demonstrated during her time as Head Pupil.”
