Principality Building Society has been ranked as one of the top mortgage service providers in the UK following independent research of brokers.

The Society ranked third for ‘overall satisfaction’ (that is overall performance in satisfying broker needs) out of 15 lenders rated in the survey.  Brokers rated the Society as the top performing lender for ‘using common sense on underwriting decisions’ and the Society was also ranked the best for the ‘quality of its conveyancing service’.

The Charterhouse Research Mortgage Intermediary Survey 2018  which interviewed 355 intermediary establishments between March and May this year also showed that Principality performs well for consistency of underwriting, access to someone with underwriting knowledge, prompt processing to final offer and providing clear instructions of what’s needed to progress an application.

Shaun Middleton, Head of Regulated Sales and Intermediaries, said:

“It makes us proud that we have been ranked so highly for our customer service. We have been listening to what brokers tell us they want from a lender and we are delivering on our promises. Our intermediary team has expanded across the UK and we have invested in our broker support desk. It’s really important to the Society that we have experienced people who ensure that brokers receive answers to questions and decisions as soon as possible when placing business with us.

“Over the last 12 months we have fully reviewed our mortgage end-to-end journey, we have updated many of our internal processes and systems to make it much easier for customers and brokers to do business with us.  We have significantly improved our speed to offer and our broker satisfaction result are at a record high.

“Brokers really appreciated having access to our underwriters and this really made us stand out from our competitors. We have excellent people to provide that human service and personal touch and it is clear brokers value our approach. We will continue to remain focused on improving our services to brokers.”

Kate Turner from Charterhouse Research said:

“Principality Building Society has provided consistently good service to brokers this quarter and those who use them are clearly appreciating their common sense approach to underwriting decisions.”
