Beauty and the Beast was due to be performed until 15, January 2022 but sadly productions after Christmas Eve will now bw cancelled.

Earlier today, the First Minister for Wales, Mark Drakeford announced new measures from 6am on Boxing Day to help keep Wales safe.

The measures are a revised version of alert level two to respond to the new omicron variant and are designed to help keep businesses open and trading and protect customers and staff. However, the rule of 6 and 2m distancing has seen a number of theatres close their productions early.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the Wales Millennium Centre said:

“Following the Welsh Government announcement that Wales is moving to Alert Level 2, guidance on social distancing measures and indoor events, and to protect our audiences, staff and production cast and crew, we regret that all performances of scheduled shows have been cancelled from 26 December until at least 15 January 2022.

“Our building will fully close from 24 December.

“Performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on 23 and 24 December have also been cancelled due to Covid-enforced absences in the cast and crew.

“If you have booked tickets to see a show during this period the original booker will be automatically refunded.

“Thank you for your patience and support at this challenging time.”
