Located next to Swansea Arena, the coastal park includes plenty of new greenery, benches, soft play areas and other facilities.
Both the coastal park and arena are part of the £135m Copr Bay phase one district being developed by Swansea Council and development managed by RivingtonHark. Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd is leading on its construction.
About the same size as a football pitch, the coastal park also includes water features and a selection of new trees.
Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration and Tourism, said: “We’re delighted that the coastal park has now opened to the public, helping further support our on-going plan to introduce as much new greenery as possible in Swansea city centre for the benefit of our residents, businesses and visitors.
“Also supporting people who live and work in the city centre, the coastal park has been designed in a dune-like shape to celebrate its proximity to our stunning coastline.
“The coastal park will become a new meeting place in Swansea for people of all ages, whether they want to relax with family and friends or enjoy a drink or a bite to eat before an event at the arena.
“It’s a key part of the £135m Copr Bay phase one district that’s delivering for the people of Swansea by creating first class leisure and entertainment facilities, as well as jobs and opportunities.”

Run by the Secret Hospitality Group, a restaurant called The Green Room is also located at the coastal park. It’ll now be open from 10am to 4pm every week day this week, and from 10am to 10pm on Saturday (March 19).
Many of the coastal park benches will be solar-powered, with technology enabling people to charge their smartphones, tablets and laptops.
The coastal park can be accessed via the new bridge over Oystermouth Road or the new spiral staircase that leads to the arena development from Oystermouth Road. An access ramp has been developed to the coastal park from Paxton Street, with a lift also available from close to the spiral stairway on Oystermouth Road.
Also now open to the public is the 345-space car park below the coastal park.
