A fully-funded project which aims to boost the innovation, manufacturing and engineering sectors is launching in Neath Port Talbot.

Expert, one-to-one support is on offer for eighteen local companies to help boost the region’s booming industries. Support will focus on areas including finance, HR and marketing and will help individuals learn more about overcoming challenges and planning for the future.

The programme, which launches in March, will run until July and includes an in-depth exploration of each business’ current position with an experienced coach, reflecting on how the company is operating in relation to its future goals. The initial review will lead to a series of one-to-one sessions, helping to shape operations, strategic vision, culture and more – all designed around the needs and requirements of the businesses.

The project is being run by small business specialists Town Square Spaces Ltd (TownSq) in partnership with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council after securing investment from the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

TownSq’s Mandy Weston, COO and Project Lead, explained: “The innovation, manufacturing and engineering industries make up a huge part of the Neath Port Talbot economy, with numbers almost double the UK average, so we believe this project will have a huge impact on business development and encourage more people to trade locally.

“Designed around the businesses involved, those who take part in the project will receive tailored support and guidance to help move their ideas forward. Even if you’re an expert in your own field, it can be invaluable to gain insight and direction from specialists in the other areas, such as advertising and accounting, to take your business to the next level.

“We would strongly encourage innovation, manufacturing and engineering companies of any size in Neath Port Talbot to get in touch and take advantage of this exciting opportunity to boost their business.”
