An American-style smokehouse is coming to Swansea

Following their initial expansion, resulting in a move from Swansea to Llanelli, the popular American-style smokehouse is announcing it’s return to the city with the opening of a new branch in May.

With humble beginnings in Clydach, it wouldn’t be long before the business outgrew its location. Not content with their ambitions being cooled by the COVID-19 pandemic, sights were set on a new home.

Having opened with over 4,000 table bookings, the success of the Llanelli branch is attributed to Cattle & Co’s unique take on beautifully smoked, tender brisket and twists on comfort classics such as Mac ‘n’ Cheese. These dishes have seen diners returning with a flourish, post-lockdown. Now they’re set to bring in even more patrons with their new Castle Gardens location, complete with a dry ageing room which will enhance the flavour and tenderness of their steaks.

Of the return to Swansea, co-owner Rebecca Mace had this to say:

“We are so thrilled to be back in Swansea, especially in such a beautiful venue, and on the site of Swansea’s original steakhouse! We’re also incredibly proud to be bringing over 40 new jobs to the area and are currently recruiting new team members for both front of house and kitchen.”

Taking on the huge unit previously housing large independent venue Three Lamps, Rebecca spoke on what will be exclusive to their Swansea location:

“Having the space to really expand what we’re able to offer is what we’re most excited about. Aside from the restaurant across the bottom two floors, the new location will also include an American-style sports bar on the middle floor which will be available for private hire, as well as a more exclusive, luxury cocktail bar on the top floor with a planned expansion for a VIP room.”
