A free afternoon of live music, activities and socialising aimed at those aged 50 and over is taking place on Swansea Beach on Wednesday (August 10).

The event that runs between 12 noon and 4pm has been organised by the council’s partnership and involvement team working with Swansea’s Ageing Well Steering Group.

The beach festival, which will also have information stalls from many different groups and organisations, will be on the beach near the Secret Bar & Kitchen.

Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Support, Hayley Gwilliam, said: “As long as the weather is good this should be a great event and I’m looking forward to meeting lots of people there.

“People are welcome to bring along a picnic and beach chair to enjoy the music, get involved in the activities should they wish and enjoy themselves socialising and meeting others.

“It will also be a great opportunity to speak with organisations to find out about the services they offer and how to access them.”

There is no need to book but for further information contact Swansea Council’s Older Person’s Partnership and Involvement Officer Rhys Thomas by emailing him at  [email protected] or call him on 07977346177.
