Lidl has opened its new supermarket in Brynmawr Retail Park on Blaina Road today, Thursday 8th September.

The new, modern store will create around 40 new jobs for the local community and feature the supermarket’s famous in-store bakery, customer toilets with baby changing facilities and ample parking for cars and bicycles.

During the opening weekend, customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including an Angle Grinder (£9.99) on Friday 9th September as well as a Sharp 12V/240V 24″ HD Ready Smart TV (£99.00) on Saturday 10th September.

The store opening times will be between 8am – 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday, delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, George Ledward, commented: “It is fantastic that we are able to open our doors and welcome everyone into our new store in Brynmawr. We have received overwhelming support from local residents, and we would like to thank all those that have played a part in delivering this new store. We now look forward to serving our multi-award winning products to everyone within the local community.”

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl GB now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK.
