TWO special trains have been confirmed to give football fans from north Wales the chance to get to Cardiff for Wales’ next two matches.

Ryan Giggs’ men take on the Republic of Ireland on Thursday, 6th September in the new Nations League. And the following month they take on former World Champions Spain in a high profile friendly.

Working in partnership with the Football Association of Wales, Arriva Trains Wales is running special trains for fans from north Wales down to Cardiff and back after both matches at Cardiff City Stadium.

The move was welcomed by the FAW.

Lucy Mason, Ticketing and Membership Manager for the FAW said:

“The FAW and FSF Cymru have been delighted with the previous Football Special train service for Cymru fans from North Wales provided by Arriva Trains Wales. It is brilliant that this service will operate once again for our Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland and the International Friendly against Spain.”

    The services will call at:

    • Holyhead
    • Bangor
    • Llandudno Junction
    • Colwyn Bay
    • Rhyl
    • Flint
    • Chester
    • Wrexham General before running direct to Cardiff Central

Arriva Trains Wales director Lynne Milligan said:

“It’s excellent news that we’ve been able to put on these services for fans again. Hopefully they will prove very popular and will give supporters from North Wales the chance to get to and from Cardiff on the same night without having to book a hotel room or drive. Cymru am byth!”

Tickets are a flat rate of £47 for Adults and £23.50 for concessions via the FAW website: https://www.eticketing.co.uk/fawtickets-english/EDP/Event/Index/268
