Aston Martin teams up with rugby legend to supply coffee

Employees at Aston Martin’s St Athan facility received a boost when Welsh rugby legend and co-founder of FabFour Coffee, Shane Williams OBE, dropped in for a meet & greet to celebrate his coffee being selected by the iconic ultra-luxury brand.

Now served at Aston Martin’s manufacturing site in the Vale of Glamorgan, Williams founded FabFour Coffee with former Wales and British & Irish Lions players Mike Philips, James Hook and Lee Byrne, with three goals in mind: to create great tasting coffee, to keep their long-standing friendship intact and to make a contribution to the Velindre Cancer Centre, known as the ‘Hospital of Hope’.

St Athan staff enjoyed a caffeinated break from hand building the marque’s luxury SUV, the Aston Martin DBX, to chat to the Wales International about his sporting, business, and charity endeavors.

Stuart Lord, Director of Manufacturing – St Athan at Aston Martin said: “We really enjoyed meeting Shane at our on-site coffee shop. International athletes are excellent role models for high-performance, whether that be on the pitch or in business. As well as great coffee, the story behind FabFour Coffee is about lasting friendships and charity which are principles that are also true to Aston Martin.”

Aston Martin, along with its catering provider Just Perfect Catering, are happy to support Shane and his fellow co-founders, with FabFour Coffee now sold in the staff restaurant at St Athan. All proceeds from sales of coffee during yesterday’s event were donated to the Velindre Cancer Centre.
